3 Injured in Georgia SUV Rollover Accident

An 18-year-old man was ejected through the passenger window of his truck after Georgia State Patrol said he ran a stop sign and hit an SUV. He landed about 15 feet away from his vehicle. The collision on GA 10 at Stagecoach Road in Thomson also hurt two people in the SUV. Police investigators said the 18-year-old driver of a Ford F-150 westbound on Stagecoach Road ran the stop sign for GA 10. His vehicle struck a Ford Expedition heading south on the highway. The impact rolled the Expedition over. A female passenger in the Expedition required air transport to GRU Medical Center. Emergency responders drove two injured men to the same hospital. A hospital representative later shared information on the medical conditions of the injured people. The hospital treated and released the 18-year-old man. Head-On Collision Claims 2 Lives

A Georgia accident that occurred near Lawrenceville claimed the life of both drivers. The accident occurred on March 16 on Buford Drive near Cripple Creek Drive. According to reports, a 50-year-old Lawrenceville woman was driving a Buick LeSabre north on the road. She apparently crossed the centerline, striking a southbound Toyota Camry being driven by a 42-year-old Buford man. Both the woman and the man died of the injuries they sustained in the collision. According to police, a pickup truck and a Honda were also involved in the wreck. The pickup truck's driver was not injured, while the driver of the Honda received minor injuries and was treated and then released from the hospital. Law enforcement authorities have not indicated what caused the woman to cross the centerline. They have also not reported whether alcohol or drugs were involved. Man killed after driver cuts him off

A man in Georgia was killed in a two-car accident that took place on Feb. 28. Before the crash, the 71-year-old victim was driving a sports car in Marietta. While the man was traveling westbound, another driver cut him off while the sports car was trying to make a turn. The car accident occurred after the victim had slowed his vehicle to turn left. When the victim began to turn, a 45-year-old man driving an SUV drove up behind him and crossed the centerline. The driver of the SUV then entered the opposite lanes of traffic and struck the front-left side of the victim's sports car. The impact of the collision caused both of the vehicles to end up in a residential yard that was close to the roadway. Georgia Head-On Collision Kills 2, Seriously Injures 1

Police in Georgia are investigating a Feb. 25 car accident that resulted in the deaths of two people and sent a third to the hospital. The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Old Clyattville Road in Valdosta. A Ford Mustang driven by a 22-year-old woman from Florida was traveling southbound on Old Clyattville Road at the time of the accident. A Ford F-150 traveling in the northbound lane attempted to pass a northbound school bus and collided head-on with the Mustang about two miles away from Interstate 75. The 22-year-old woman and her passenger, a 23-year-old Valdosta man, died as a result of their injuries. Emergency crews took the F-150's driver, a 34-year-old Valdosta man, to South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta in serious condition. According to law enforcement officials with the Henry County Police, a Butts County man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a collision that occurred when a driver reportedly ran a stop sign. The fatal collision occurred on the night of Nov. 29 on Georgia 81. Officers did not say if any other factors like impairment contributed to the wreck. A 19-year-old man was driving a 2002 Ford Focus on Jackson Lake Road when he approached the road's intersection with Ga. 81. He reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign when he arrived at the intersection. He then collided with a 2007 Ford Mustang driven by an 18-year-old man. The impact of the collision caused the death of the 19-year-old. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by responding emergency personnel. Georgia Woman Dies in Rear-End Collision

A multi-vehicle traffic accident on the evening of Nov. 6 left one woman dead and another person injured in Dougherty County. A third man involved in the collision received a traffic citation and may face additional criminal charges related to the fatal crash as well. According to information released by investigators with the Dougherty County Police, the three-car accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Liberty Expressway and Holly Drive in Albany. Witnesses claim the 43-year-old Mitchell County woman driving a black Volkswagen Beetle was stopped at a red light when her vehicle was rear-ended by a red van driven by a 72-year-old Montgomery County man. The force of the impact then caused the Volkswagen to strike another black vehicle in front of it driven by a 34-year-old Ocklocknee's Ford woman. One person was killed and another was injured in an accident in Warner Robins on Oct. 8. The driver responsible for the crash ran a red light at what appears to be high speed, causing the fatal accident. Police report that around 9:15 a.m., a 22-year-old Warner Robins woman was making a left turn from Burns Drive onto Russell Parkway when her 2002 Mazda Tribute was hit by a 2000 Ford F250 pickup truck, driven by a 34-year-old Perry man, that had just run a red light. The Mazda had the green light for the turn at the time of the accident. The skid marks from the Ford at the scene began before the stop line of the traffic light. A fatal car accident that occurred in DeKalb County on the night of Aug. 28 resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man. The man was reportedly driving a pickup truck when he collided head-on with an 18-wheeler, and a sedan that was behind the 18-wheeler also became involved in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. The semi-truck driver and the sedan driver were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police stated that the pickup truck was traveling the wrong way at the time of the accident. Authorities were investigating the reason behind this wrong-way driving at the time of the report. In a car accident such as this one, the driver who was performing the illegal act is considered to be at fault. Police released details from a two-vehicle accident that took place in Glennville and left three people, including a local soldier who was based at Fort Stewart, dead. The Georgia State Patrol said the crash occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 7 when one of the vehicles crossed the center line and collided head on with the other vehicle. The soldier, who was the driver of the vehicle that was hit, was killed in the accident. The 33-year-old driver and a 20-year-old passenger in the vehicle that allegedly caused the collision were also killed. A third passenger in the same vehicle was taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. Police investigators took a blood-alcohol sample from the driver who is believed to have triggered the collision. GM warned about defects in 2006

Motorists in Georgia may be surprised to learn that General Motors was warned about possible defects approximately seven years before a recall occurred in 2014. GM was contacted by an investigator employed by Vanguard Car Rental USA about a motorist in a Chevrolet Cobalt who lost control of the vehicle in September 2006. The vehicle drifted across the roadway onto a gravel median and overturned. The driver was wearing a seat belt but still died in the collision. The airbags allegedly failed to deploy during the accident. The claims adjuster for Vanguard contacting GM acknowledged that the cause of the crash was unknown but noted that the details of the crash warranted the automaker opening a claim and inspecting the model for potential defects. Bloomberg recovered these documents with a Freedom of Information Act request. Warranty records, call transcripts and police reports revealed that Enterprise also pressed GM about potentially…
