Georgia police see numerous bizarre behavior patterns when making traffic stops. In their efforts to keep the roads safe for all drivers, they find many stops are made because of drunk driving. A state trooper recently responded to a drunk driving incident and made an arrest. Emergency personnel were already on the scene when the officer arrived to find the driver of a vehicle asleep behind the wheel. The car was stopped at a traffic light around midnight and there were, in addition to the driver, three older, handicapped passengers inside. When the driver awoke and got out of her vehicle, police saw she had soiled herself and noticed there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the car. Accidents caused by drunk driving may cause minimal damage to other vehicles or people, or they may be catastrophic with fatalities and/or severe injuries. Police in a Georgia town have arrested a 59-year-old man for drunk driving after his vehicle struck three pedestrians. Reports state the 2 p.m. incident began with the man turned his Jaguar onto a residential street, ran off the road and then hit one of the houses. He backed away from the scene, continued along the street and made another turn when he hit two pedestrians walking in the crosswalk.
