Fatal Car Accident Claims Life of Georgia Man

There are numerous distractions for a driver while on the road. While the most obvious these days is cellphone usage, passengers, roadside commotion, or even the driver’s own thoughts can take focus away from the road. That loss of concentration on driving can lead to a fatal car accident or one with varying degrees of injury. A 33-year-old man from Hall County was recently killed in a mid-morning fatal car accident.

The man was headed west in his Ford Focus when a Dodge Ram pickup traveling east crossed over the center lane. The two vehicles collided head-on. When Georgia State Patrol troopers arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the Ford had died from blunt force trauma caused by the impact. The pickup truck had rolled over and landed upside down. The driver was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The state’s specialized reconstruction team joined troopers at the scene. While their investigation has not yet concluded, they did reveal the driver of the Ford was wearing a seat belt. The pickup driver was not. Troopers do not know exactly what caused the pickup driver to veer off course, but formal charges are expected once he has recovered.

Unfortunately, this type of car accident is all too common, in Georgia and across the country. Family members of the deceased often choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the party believed responsible as a way to hold him or her accountable for the actions that took their loved one. Because of the grief and heartache these families face, it can be difficult to fully understand the process involved in filing and litigating a formal claim. An attorney who has a wealth of experience can shoulder the legal burden and work to achieve a financial award acceptable to the client.
