In a car accident such as this one, the driver who was performing the illegal act is considered to be at fault. In this case, the pickup truck driver demonstrated negligence by illegally traveling in the wrong direction on the road. The results of the completed accident investigation by the police may provide a clear picture of all of the factors that led up to the accident and can help the victims’ attorneys when filing their personal injury claims.
Since the at-fault driver died in the accident, the drivers of the semi-truck and the sedan may be able to file claims against his insurance company and estate. The plaintiffs could get compensation for hospital bills, pain and suffering and property damage. An attorney can help the plaintiffs prepare their claims and file for their entitled compensation based on how the accident affected their lives.
