Driver Faces Multiple Charges After Fatal Wreck in Georgia

An ambulance transported the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at approximately 7:42 p.m. An autopsy was performed the following day in Atlanta.

Law enforcement officials charged the driver of the Dodge with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Deputies said that witnesses told them he may have been racing when the accident happened. The news source did not report the level at which his blood alcohol content was measured.

People who lose loved ones in auto wrecks involving drivers who were suspected of being drunk or speeding may consider filing wrongful death lawsuits. While an individual may be prosecuted in a criminal court in connection with a fatal auto accident, that person may also face civil litigation from the victim’s family. Damages awarded from such suits can be tied to final medical bills, funeral and burial expenses, and the conscious pain and suffering of the victim. Additionally, that compensation can account for the emotional suffering of plaintiffs. Attorneys experienced with wrongful death cases can advise people on the strengths of potential lawsuits they may be considering.

Wonderful law firm that cares

I was injured in a terrible fall which left my foot, arm back and knee badly bruised. The Dozier Law Firm was awesome. Attorney Dustin Hamilton reviewed and accepted my case and within a few months he was able to settle my case for more than I ever imagine. The Dozier Law Firm is A+ in my book.
