Car Accident Takes Lives of 2 Children

Police say the late-night accident happened when the driver of a northbound SUV crossed over to the southbound lane and hit a smaller SUV head-on. The impact pushed the smaller SUV into a sedan. A 14-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy in the smaller SUV were pronounced dead after rescue personnel transported the three drivers and their passengers to a nearby hospital. All others are expected to recover, though further details regarding their injuries were not reported.

Once the 28-year-old driver of the larger SUV is released from medical treatment, police will be charging her with homicide by vehicle and reckless driving. All three vehicles have been impounded so police investigators can gather evidence. The driver will be remanded to the county jail for processing once she has recovered sufficiently from her own injuries.

It is hard enough for a family to lose one member in such a tragic accident but to lose two children is unfathomable. Whether the car accident was negligence or recklessness, one option a family has for financial compensation would be to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. A Georgia attorney can explain any details and requirements needed when filing this type of civil legal claim for monetary damages.

Wonderful law firm that cares

I was injured in a terrible fall which left my foot, arm back and knee badly bruised. The Dozier Law Firm was awesome. Attorney Dustin Hamilton reviewed and accepted my case and within a few months he was able to settle my case for more than I ever imagine. The Dozier Law Firm is A+ in my book.
