On the evening of Sept. 27, Georgia State Patrol responded to a crash involving a semi-truck and a car. The car held two passengers, the driver, and a child. The driver was killed in the crash, and the child was reportedly taken to Archbold Medical Center. Reports also say that the child was in critical condition.
The crash occurred on Maddox Road and State Route 188. Authorities say that the driver of the semi-truck failed to yield upon exiting a private driveway. The truck crashed into the car as the driver pulled onto the main road. Police are still investigating the crash.
Many truck accidents like this one could be easily avoided by adhering to simple traffic laws like yielding to the right-of-way. Semi-truck drivers have to be especially careful because a single mistake can cause irreparable damage. Georgia drivers who have been victims of a truck accident could benefit from contacting an attorney. An attorney may also be able to assist the families of those who, unfortunately, are victims of fatal accidents. The compensation that victims and their families might receive may go towards helping to ease the financial burden of medical bills or funeral costs.
