The crash occurred on June 20 on Interstate 285 northbound and involved four semi-trucks in addition to one car. One of the tractor-trailers struck three other large tractor-trailers as well as the rear of the small car. This chain reaction collision also forced the car to be pushed underneath one of the semi-trucks.
This crash caused the two far-right lanes and an exit ramp to be blocked for approximately six hours. Five people were injured in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the driver of the car did not survive the accident. Authorities pronounced the 62-year-old woman dead at the scene.
Truck accidents can cause an enormous amount of damage when a single semi-truck is involved, but when multiple tractor-trailers are involved, injuries and deaths are much more likely. Georgia residents who have been injured in a truck accident, or who have family members who were killed in an accident, may be entitled to compensation and could benefit from speaking with an attorney. Any compensation that victims may be due could be used to cover medical costs, property damage, and other associated expenses. Family members of deceased victims may also be entitled to recoup funeral expenses.
