The accident occurred between two vehicles early one afternoon on GA 247. One car was driven by a 20-year-old Macon resident, and the other vehicle contained the victim and his brother. The brothers were following their father’s car to the funeral of their aunt at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, the father witnessed the accident through the rearview mirror of his car.
As the brothers were traveling down the road, their truck was clipped by the second vehicle. This caused the older brother, who was driving the truck, to lose control of the vehicle. During the crash, the truck was overturned, trapping the younger sibling inside. The elder brother was transported to a nearby medical center in serious condition, but the younger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Every car accident that results in injury or death is a tragedy. However, for an accident like this to occur on the day of another family member’s funeral, it may be more than many people are prepared to cope with. Victims of such accidents or family members of victims living in Georgia may wish to contact a local attorney to discuss what compensation they might be entitled to. This compensation could be used to pay for medical costs, property damages, or funeral costs when necessary.
