Reports say that the crash involved three vehicles, two pickup trucks, and an SUV. One of the trucks was traveling westbound, and the other two vehicles were traveling east. The westbound truck crossed the center line and struck the second pickup and then the SUV. Both the SUV and the first truck eventually came to a stop on the shoulder of the road. Authorities say that the driver of the first truck, the westbound vehicle, was traveling too fast for the road conditions in addition to failing to maintain her lane.
The driver of the eastbound pickup truck was, thankfully, not injured in the collision. However, the driver of the SUV was not nearly as fortunate, and the injuries she suffered during the crash resulted in her death. The driver of the westbound truck also suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are still conducting their investigation, and charges may be filed pending their results.
Rain-slicked roadways are a common obstacle for Georgia drivers, and many take for granted their ability to navigate these hazardous roads, causing them not to be as cautious as they should be. Those who have been injured as the result of a car accident caused by someone else’s recklessness may be entitled to compensation, and they could benefit from speaking with an attorney. This compensation may include payment for medical expenses, property damages, or funeral expenses if the crash was determined to be the cause of a person’s death.
