The stuntman died several months ago from injuries he suffered while performing a fall during filming. In the suit, the 33-year-old actor’s mother claims that a low budget was responsible for what she claims were insufficient safety standards. she alleges that the pressure to keep the budget low caused those in charge to cut corners. AMC later released a statement saying that the safety of its employees is a top concern and that the company’s safety standards meet or exceed the industry standard.
Another actor who was with the victim at the time of the accident said that the victim was supposed to perform a fall from 22 feet onto a pad made of layered boxes and thinner pads. When asked if he had done such a fall before, the stuntman said that he had but never from that height. The fall called for him to come over a balcony railing and in the process of doing so, the victim seemed to try and stop the fall by grasping the rail. Unfortunately, he struck the balcony which caused him to spin around as he fell. This also caused him to miss the landing pad by several inches.
The stuntman’s mother is seeking damages as well as compensation for attorney fees. Georgia residents who believe that their loved one was killed as a result of a preventable mistake could benefit from speaking with an attorney about filing a wrongful death suit. Attorneys can help their clients identify responsible parties as well as prepare and pursue claims for maximum financial relief.
