The 47-year-old man was riding with his female passenger southbound on the road when a car pulled out in front of him. In an attempt to avoid the collision, he apparently slammed on his brakes. The quick reaction resulted in him losing control of his motorcycle. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to a specialized facility for care. His passenger suffered injuries as well, but they are both considered to be in stable condition.
The driver of the car was a 25-year-old female. She was driving out of a parking lot making a right turn on to the street that the motorcyclist was traveling. Allegedly, she did not yield to motorcyclists resulting in the crash, and she faces charges for her apparent negligence.
While riders who survive a motorcycle accident are fortunate, they may suffer life-altering changes and medical care. Although medical care is necessary, it comes with an expensive price tag. Personal injury attorneys in Georgia can inform victims of the possibility to recoup financial losses through insurance claims or by filing a lawsuit in civil court when appropriate.
