The ordeal began when a Georgia man, husband, and father of two, locked up the store where he was employed and began to walk home one evening in June 2019. Still unable to recall exactly what transpired next, the man relies on the word of Georgia State Patrol officers that tell him he was struck by a truck along a local road. His wife was notified and she rushed to the hospital, where she found her bruised and broken husband lying helpless.
After months in the hospital and multiple medical procedures, the victim’s suffering is far from over. He is now confined to a wheelchair and can’t work. The family has had to ask for financial help because the medical bills, loss of wages, and transportation costs back and forth to doctors’ appointments have become overwhelming. Unable to assist his wife with household tasks and earning income, the victim has expressed his frustration.
Anyone who becomes the victim of a truck accident in the state of Georgia may also feel frustrated and overwhelmed. In some cases, legal action can be taken against the truck driver that caused the injuries, and/or his or her employer. Many victims think it wise to consult an experienced attorney, who navigates the legal process while a victim attempts to heal, and helps collect any monetary damages from the party or parties deemed responsible.
