The four-year-old girl died in an accident that occurred earlier this month. She was in the car with her mother and younger brother when the car was struck from behind by another vehicle. When authorities arrived on the scene, which included the child’s grandfather, the little girl was pulled from the vehicle and CPR was administered.
After the accident, the driver of the second vehicle told authorities that he had dropped a bottle and his phone into the floorboard of his car and was attempting to reach for them when he crashed into the vehicle carrying the mother and her children. Unfortunately, the child did not survive, and her family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral costs. Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
A distracted driver can easily be the cause of a deadly crash. Georgia residents who have been injured in a crash caused by distracted driving could benefit from speaking with an attorney in their area. Victims of these accidents may be entitled to compensation for medical treatment costs as well as property damages. If one of the victims is killed as a result of the crash, then the family of the victim might also be entitled to compensation for funeral costs.
