Car Accident Nearly Kills 9-Year-Old in Georgia

According to security video footage, the little girl was playing in her family’s front yard when the vehicle, which appeared to be speeding at the time of the crash, jumped the curb and entered the yard at high speed. It struck the girl with enough force to cause serious injury, including pelvic and skull fractures. Thankfully, the girl was rushed to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

The security footage showed the driver, who has not been identified by police, escaping the vehicle through the passenger side. The family also reported seeing another individual fleeing the scene. Both appeared to be teenagers. The owner of the car was interviewed by police, and said she had given the car to her boyfriend for the day. Police have not completed their investigation at this time.

Depending on the outcome of that investigation, it may be possible for the family to sue for personal injury in civil court. Both the owner (assuming the vehicle was not stolen) and the driver of the vehicle could be sued in a Georgia civil court for damages caused by the car accident. This would be handled separately from any criminal charges filed against the driver by police.

Wonderful law firm that cares

I was injured in a terrible fall which left my foot, arm back and knee badly bruised. The Dozier Law Firm was awesome. Attorney Dustin Hamilton reviewed and accepted my case and within a few months he was able to settle my case for more than I ever imagine. The Dozier Law Firm is A+ in my book.
