Charges Expected After Motorcycle Accident

Most drivers, at some point, have experienced the feeling of being temporarily blinded by another vehicle's headlights or by the glare of light reflecting off of another surface. Occasionally, drivers swerve or suddenly slow down when their sense of sight is suddenly impaired, but often drivers are able to maintain control of their vehicles. Sometimes, however, other vehicles become involved and a crash occurs. The Georgia State Patrol responded to reports of a motorcycle accident earlier this month caused by similar circumstances. On the evening of Sunday, April 1, the driver of a car was caught unawares by a glare. The driver reacted to it, and a motorcyclist crashed into the larger vehicle. A passenger was riding on the back of the motorcycle, and she was thrown from the vehicle. She was caught between the two vehicles and then dragged by a third. Unfortunately, the motorcycle passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. …

Woman Could be Charged After Motorcycle Accident

As the weather begins to warm up, motorcyclists across the country are hitting the road. This also means that other drivers, as well as the cyclists, must be mindful of their surroundings. Unfortunately, a lack of attention recently contributed to a motorcycle accident in Georgia that resulted in one death. The accident occurred on I-75 and involved two vehicles, a motorcycle, and a small four-door vehicle. Upon exiting the interstate, the driver of the car continued across the highway and struck a southwest-bound motorcycle. It was determined that the vehicle driver was attempting to re-enter the interstate. The motorcyclist was struck by the front driver's side door of the car. Sadly, the motorcyclist died as a result of his injuries. Authorities are still investigating other possible causes of the crash. The driver of the car may face multiple charges pending the results of the investigation. For many motorcyclists, spring is a favorite time…

5-Car Pileup the Result of Drunk Driving

Unfortunately, it seems that far too many drivers in Georgia these days are choosing to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. Despite increased education and public awareness, drunk driving continues to be a real problem across the state. Those that drive while under the influence of alcohol endanger the lives of all those around them. Statistically, a person is killed in an accident with a drunk driver every 40 minutes in the United States. A recent accident in Covington made headlines after an alleged intoxicated driver crashed and caused a five-car pileup. The accident occurred during the morning hours at the intersection of Highways 278 and 142. According to witnesses, the alleged intoxicated driver approached the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck the rear of a vehicle that was sitting at the intersection traffic light. Reports say the collision set off a chain-reaction crash that involved four other vehicles that were stopped at the light. A driver…

Business and individual People can file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy for personal purposes, or for their businesses. Therefore, the type of business is an important consideration when determining how to file. 2 Hospitalized After Recent Car Accident in Georgia

Even a small distraction can place a driver at risk of being involved in a collision. In fact, a car accident can occur within a matter of seconds. Georgia authorities recently responded to a crash involving two vehicles. A pickup truck was leaving a Kroger parking lot in Columbia County when it collided with a car that was traveling in the middle lane of the roadway. The driver of the pickup apparently did not see the oncoming vehicle. After the collision, traffic was limited to a single lane on one side of the road, and traffic on the other side of the road slowed significantly. Both the driver and passenger in the car were injured in the crash. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were not considered life-threatening. Later, police determined that the driver of the pickup truck was at fault. He was charged with a failure…

Fatal Accidents in Popular Locations

It is widely believed that there are few things more tragic than the death of a child. Many residents of Georgia might have heard about a recent accident that resulted in the death of a small child. Fatal accidents that occur in public places, like shopping centers, can sometimes have a long-lasting effect on the memories of those who were involved in some way or on those who learned about it later. A young child was recently killed by a falling mirror while shopping for shoes with her family. The child was looking at some of the store's merchandise when the family reportedly heard a crash. One of the store's full-length mirrors was not properly secured and had fallen onto the little girl. Among the witnesses was one of the victim's older cousins. He told reporters that before the paramedics arrived his cousin had lost a significant amount of blood…

Search Continues for Driver After Car Accident

There are many people who attempt to flee after committing one serious crime or multiple crimes. Georgia officers are searching for a driver who made bail after a car accident that resulted in one death and two serious injuries. The suspect is also wanted for his involvement in other criminal activity, and authorities say that he should be considered dangerous. They also ask that anyone who has information about the suspect to contact the police. At the time of the crash, the 19-year-old suspect was reportedly traveling 84 miles per hour on a road where the speed limit was 35 miles per hour. He was traveling with five minor passengers in his vehicle. The suspect's vehicle collided with a second vehicle carrying two passengers. One of these passengers was killed, and the other was seriously injured. A passenger in the at-fault driver's vehicle was also seriously injured. A few days before the…

Driver Charged After Truck Accident

Traffic accidents are, unfortunately, unavoidable on major roadways like highways or interstates. These accidents can range from minor fender-benders with no injuries to multiple-car pileups that result in severe injuries or deaths. A truck accident is especially likely to result in injury or death because of the size of the vehicle involved. Several months ago, one such accident occurred in Georgia, and one of the drivers who was seriously injured in the crash recently passed away. As a result, charges have been filed against the truck driver involved. The original crash occurred in November of last year and involved 11 vehicles, including a tractor-trailer. Multiple people were injured in the crash, but only one has died as a result of those injuries. It was ultimately determined that the truck driver was responsible for the crash, and warrants have been issued for his arrest. Authorities are filing multiple charges against the driver of the…

Critical Injuries Result from Motorcycle Accident

As the weather begins to warm up, drivers must watch for more motorcycles while on the road. It can be easy for a motorcyclist to lose control or crash into something else while trying to avoid being hit by other, larger vehicles on the road. A motorcycle accident in Georgia occurred under similar circumstances. A 42-year-old motorcyclist is currently in critical condition at Navicent Health in Macon after an accident on Gray Highway recently. The accident occurred when a car pulling onto the highway from a parking lot crossed over the lanes and into the victim's path. He attempted to swerve out of the car's way but crashed into the rear of the vehicle in the process. When authorities arrived, they had the motorcyclist transported to a hospital for treatment.
