First Grade Girl Killed in One of Georgia’s Fatal Accidents

In January 2018, the driver was taking her load of children home after school when she lost control of the bus as it came to a curve in the road. Investigations showed she was driving too fast for the trajectory of the road. The bus landed on its side after leaving the road and rolling.

A first-grade girl on the bus was ejected. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries but did not survive. Just months after the incident, the driver was charged with several offenses, including vehicular homicide. In the past week, she was arrested on additional, unnamed charges. The deceased student’s parent filed a lawsuit against the driver and the county’s board of education just two months after their daughter died.

The pain and suffering experienced by families after losses in fatal accidents are like no other. Making decisions on the next steps to take can be challenging. Many families in this situation will file a wrongful death lawsuit, where a possible financial award can be used for expenses related to the death. A Georgia attorney can lead a family through the legal process and take on the responsibility of ensuring the court has all the required information on which to base a decision.

Wonderful law firm that cares

I was injured in a terrible fall which left my foot, arm back and knee badly bruised. The Dozier Law Firm was awesome. Attorney Dustin Hamilton reviewed and accepted my case and within a few months he was able to settle my case for more than I ever imagine. The Dozier Law Firm is A+ in my book.
