Paramedics and other first responders were dispatched just before 6:30 a.m. on June 8 in response to an accident. When they arrived, the first responders saw that both vehicles involved in the wreck had come to a stop on the eastbound side of the intersection. The motorcyclist was found lying on the side of the road near the crash site and had suffered severe injuries.
Authorities determined that the southbound passenger vehicle struck the motorcycle when the driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic while attempting to make a left turn at an intersection. As the driver turned, her vehicle she struck the northbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist later died as a result of his injuries, and authorities are still investigating the crash.
Motorcyclists have very little protection other than a helmet or protective clothing, so when an accident occurs, injuries are very likely. Georgia residents who have been injured in a motorcycle accident may be entitled to compensation. An attorney may be able to help accident victims to receive the compensation they may be due for medical expenses, property damages, or funeral costs.
