The accident involved two vehicles, a northbound car, and a southbound pickup truck. As she approached a curve in the road, the northbound driver crossed over the center line into the southbound lane, where she crashed into the oncoming truck. According to authorities, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and the airbags functioned properly. They have also stated that they do not think that the crash was alcohol-related.
Unfortunately, both drivers suffered serious injuries. The northbound driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Fortunately, the pickup driver survived, though he also suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and his injuries included a broken ankle as well as a collapsed lung.
People in Georgia who have been injured in a car accident similar to this one may be entitled to compensation. An attorney may be able to help his or her clients to determine if they have a legitimate case and what compensation they might be entitled to. This might include payment for medical treatment for injuries received in the crash, property damages, or the cost of any future treatments needed due to injuries suffered during the crash. Similarly, a lawyer can help the surviving family of a deceased accident victim consider their options for legal recourse.
