The accident involved two vehicles, a northbound car, and a southbound pickup truck. As she approached a curve in the road, the northbound driver crossed over the center line into the southbound lane, where she crashed into the oncoming truck. According to authorities, both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and the airbags functioned properly. They have also stated that they do not think that the crash was alcohol-related.
Unfortunately, both drivers suffered serious injuries. The northbound driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Fortunately, the pickup driver survived, though he also suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and his injuries included a broken ankle as well as a collapsed lung.
