The 66-year-old man was in his own yard when a vehicle, suspected to be a silver Infiniti and going too fast for the weather conditions at the time, hit him and his dog. Both the man and the dog were killed instantly. Later in the day and less than a mile away, police found the vehicle they believed to be used in the hit-and-run accident.
Police discovered the owner of the vehicle was in jail but used various means, including surveillance videos, to identify a suspect. They have not yet located her but are asking the public for assistance in their search. Once apprehended she will be facing numerous charges, including vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, and cruelty to animals.
If convicted, the woman will most likely face the consequences of her actions with time in jail, significant fines, and other consequences.
