Police reports stated a 25-year-old man was nearing an intersection when the driver in front of him slammed on the brakes. In an effort to keep from crashing into the rear of the car, he said he jerked his steering wheel to the left, which took his vehicle into the lane of oncoming traffic. He then collided with a sedan headed straight toward him.
The driver of the sedan did not survive due to the severity of his injuries. Police arrested the younger man with charges of vehicular homicide as well as failing to maintain his lane. He was arrested and spent time in the county jail but is now out on a bond of an unspecified amount.
The family of the deceased is reaching out to the public for help in paying funeral and burial costs. In similar circumstances, a Georgia attorney might suggest filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the party or parties deemed at fault in pursuit of a monetary judgment for financial losses. Money from a successfully presented lawsuit could help to recover documented financial losses concerning a fatal car accident.
