Six Flags Over Georgia is a 290-acre theme park located in unincorporated Cobb County, Austell, Georgia. It opened in 1967 and is the second park in the Six Flags chain of amusement parks. The first, Six-Flags Over Texas, opened in 1961. This newest park offers a wide range of family-friendly rides and attractions. There are also numerous restaurants and shopping centers. The theme park is open year-round.
The park’s history and design began in 1964 when it was first planned as an industrial complex. The park was originally meant to be a large, free-flowing lake. Nevertheless, the current layout has been changed and the water park is now called Whitewater. The amusement park is a great destination for families with young children or for couples looking for a family outing. However, if you are looking for something a little different, you should consider getting a season pass to the park.
During the park’s current season, visitors can enjoy special events such as the 55th-anniversary celebration on June 14th. The park also hosts July 4th Fest, Brews and Bites festival, Fright Fest, and Holiday in the Park. It is the largest amusement park in Georgia and will host many other events during the year. For a more exciting day at the park, make a reservation today and get ready to celebrate with your family for the next 55 years!
